Strawberry Protein Shakes

Walk into any health food retail store and you will see three flavors of protein powder - chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. These are the three most common flavors.

In terms of popularity, vanilla ranks first, chocolate second, and strawberry comes in last. But that doesn't mean that strawberry protein shakes taste bad. Taste is a very subjective matter. What taste good to one may not taste good to another.

It is easy to create to great tasting vanilla or chocolate shakes. Just mix the powder with cold water and ice cubes. These are flavors that are already very popular with the consumers. But if you want to make a great tasting strawberry shake, you have to adopt a different approach.

If you just add strawberry flavored protein powder with cold water, you will get a somewhat bitter tasting protein shake. That's why many customers avoid buying strawberry flavored powder after the first try!

You want your strawberry shake to be healthy, so don't add sugar. Instead, add a spoonful of honey. That will improve the taste of the shake drastically.

If you still don't like the taste, you can buy a vanilla flavored powder, and then add real strawberries to your drink. Fresh fruits always contain more fiber and vitamins than processed flavorings.

It's always good to get creative with your recipes because you need variety. Otherwise, it's going to be hard to consume shakes on a daily basis.
